Nelcius Single Malt French Whisky -Cépage Cabernet Sauvignon

A unique French Single Malt Whisky that is produced on the Chateau Laujac estate in the Medoc region just north of Bordeaux by Réné-Philippe DuBoscq.

The name of this whisky honors the racehorse that was raised by Réné-Philippe's father and won the famous French Jockey Club race in the 1960's.

Lovely golden straw color. Lovely baking spices on the nose with hints of vanilla and oak. Delicate and lovely on the palate with a nice warm butterscotch flavor. A perfect balance of heat and flavor.

The grain is grown and distilled on the estate, then aged for two years in French oak before being rested for a year in barrels that previously held Chateau Laujac's famous wines. The Cépage Cabernet Sauvignon Whisky is a blend of single malt whiskies that have been rested in barrels Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.

Nelcius is currently one of the only French Whiskies being imported to the West Coast.
