Nelcius Single Malt French Whisky - Premium

A unique French Single Malt Whisky that is produced on the Chateau Laujac estate in the Medoc region just north of Bordeaux by Réné-Philippe DuBoscq.

The name of this whisky honors the racehorse that was raised by Réné-Philippe's father and won the famous French Jockey Club race in the 1960's.

Nice baking spices on the nose, almost like a cognac, with undertones of vanilla and caramel. The flavor is light and delicate with a little bit of heat followed by a slightly sour long finish.

The grain is grown and distilled on the estate, then aged for two years in French oak before being rested for a year in barrels that previously held Chateau Laujac's famous wines. The Premium Whisky is a blend of single malt whiskies that have been rested in barrels from all three cépages - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. 

Nelcius is currently one of the only French Whiskies being imported to the West Coast.
